Bay Area-based artist Chris Granillo is currently working on a series of paintings, sculptures and prints for his upcoming solo show “Bird’s Eye View.” In “Bird’s Eye View” Granillo illustrates poverty, using birds to personify society and its struggles. Granillo depicts challenges in our communities from neglected street maintenance in low-income neighborhoods, to poorly paid factory workers. For instance, one of Granillo’s paintings depicts a conspiracy of humming birds dressed as bees to steal honey from a hive. Everybody wants that milk n honey…
